About the Ads You May See on PinSlip.app

If you visit PinSlip.app in the coming days, you may start seeing some ads on the website.

I want to explain why.

PinSlip is a free and open-source project, and I want to keep it that way. There is no subscription or payment required to use the desktop sticky notes app, and I don't want to change that just because more and more people are using the software.

But keeping a project online isn't completely free.

There are costs for the domain, hosting, services, and other things involved in running and maintaining the website. Of course, development and maintenance also take a lot of time.

So I've decided to put a small number of ads on PinSlip.app to help cover some of those costs.

I'm not expecting PinSlip to suddenly become a business from this. At this stage, even a small amount of revenue that helps pay for keeping the website running is useful to me.

I know ads can be annoying, but I'll try to keep the number and placement of ads reasonable. In particular, I don't want ads to interfere with navigation or make the website difficult to use.

I'll also keep an eye on how they affect the overall experience and make adjustments if necessary.

There will be no changes to PinSlip itself.

PinSlip remains free and open source.

The desktop app won't become a paid product because of this, and there won't be any ads inside the app.

This is just a small way for the website to contribute toward its own running costs.
